COVID-19 SCHEDULE CHANGES
To All Hodges Orthodontics Patients:
What a difference a day makes. We had previously hoped to continue our normal schedule, but with increased concern, we have made the hard decision to reschedule appointments for the next few weeks. In cooperation with the combined recommendations of the Mississippi Dental Board of Examiners and the American Dental Association, it has been recommended to delay non-essential dental procedures for 3 weeks, which includes most orthodontic treatment.
If you have an appointment scheduled soon, most likely your appointment has been rescheduled and we will notify you within the next 48 hours. You will soon receive a confirmation via email, text, and/or phone with the new date for your appointment. If there is a conflict with this date, please contact our office and we will work to reschedule.
A few exceptions are listed below:
- We have assessed all current patient appointments to determine anyone that would be at greater risk for a three week delay. These patients may have had recent surgery, currently impacted teeth, or certain active appliances that need to be checked. These patients will be contacted directly and scheduled sooner. We will schedule these patients on an individual basis.
- New Patients. We are encouraging any new patient to submit a Virtual Consult to begin the process of starting their treatment ahead of time. The Virtual Consult will allow Dr. Hodges to review your case and determine if you are ready to begin treatment, or if we need further examination. This is not a requirement, but will allow you to take care of those first steps towards beginning your treatment. Here is the link for a new patient Virtual Consult: VIRTUAL CONSULT.
- Invisalign/Clear Aligner patients. If you are currently being treated with Invisalign or clear aligners, you may submit a Virtual Checkup. We will send you a text message for the link or you can access it here: VIRTUAL CHECKUP. The link will allow you to submit photos of your current aligner fit and if appropriate, you will be able to come pick up additional aligners to keep your treatment moving forward. Based on the results from this virtual checkup, we will then schedule your next appointment.
- Retainer Checks. All retainer checks are encouraged to submit a Virtual Checkup in lieu of rescheduling at this time. The Virtual Checkup will allow you to send in photos of your teeth and if there are questions regarding any problems, we will schedule a retainer check for you or your family member. To say the least, these are unusual times. We have tried to make decisions that have the best interest of our patients, our team, and our community at heart.
