About the scholarship
For the 20th year running, Hodges Orthodontics is offering a Smile Scholarship to one graduating Senior in North Mississippi. We are constantly thankful for the support of our community and want to return your trust and support by supporting the continuance of education among our patients!
Area seniors have the chance to receive a $1,000 scholarship and a brand-new MacBook Air!
We will award one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to the institution of your choice, and you will receive a brand-new MacBook Air! Please note this is not exclusive to Tupelo, Pontotoc, or our former patients but is open to any graduating Senior willing to let us know what makes you smile (details below).
We have awarded past winners from a variety of area high schools and look forward again this year to celebrating with the deserving students. Creativity will certainly shine as more and more applicants have been applying each year. We look forward to hearing more about you!
Essay instructions
We’re all about smiles here—and nothing makes us smile bigger than a story that leaves us laughing out loud! For your 50-word essay, we want the funniest moment of your life. Whether it’s an awkward orthodontic mishap, an epic fail, or a hilarious coincidence, let your story shine!
Make us smile so hard our cheeks hurt, and you could walk away with the Smile Scholarship!

For counselors & teachers!
Download the application and distribute it to any students interested and qualified for this scholarship. Additionally, this year we have added the option for teachers to NOMINATE a student. If this student has filled out our application and essay, a teacher’s nomination will help us choose the most deserving student – so nominate an amazing student and let us know!
